We had a lofty goal. Thanks to the efforts of many, a veteran’s monument has been designed,
put out to bid, completed, and cast in bronze. It was placed in the cemetery and unveiled on Memorial Day 2011.
The monument is a half life sized bronze sculpture of a
cavalry soldier’s rider less horse. The rider less horse in a post battle scene is a powerful yet sensitive
image representing the fallen soldier.

We have always honored these heroes, and the monument is the fulfillment of a wish to show our
appreciation for their selfless service for our freedoms sake. Though the monument is being placed in the
Huntsville Town Cemetery our intent is to honor all veterans, peace time veterans, fallen veterans and those still serving.

A project of this magnitude can be overwhelming, expensive and very ambitious especially in such a
short time frame and in today’s economy. Through fund raising efforts and generous donations a substantial
amount of the project has been raised. Miniature bronze statues of the full size monument ($1800.00) and limited edition prints ($185.00) depicting the sentiments of the fallen soldier are still available (see details below).
